Ukrainian emigrants can now work in Croatia without working permit

At the session of the Government held on March 7, 2022., Croatian Government adopted The Decision on the introduction of temporary protection in the Republic of Croatia for displaced persons from Ukraine.

This Decision introduces temporary protection in the Republic of Croatia for displaced persons from Ukraine in accordance with the Law on International and Temporary Protection and the Implementing Decision of the EU Council of 4 March 2022. ID card, basic means of living and accommodation, health care, primary and secondary education, information on rights and obligations, employment without a residence and work permit or certificate of registration of work, family reunification and freedom of religion. The Ministry of the Interior affairs is responsible for organising the reception and care of persons who meet the conditions for granting temporary protection and receiving and deciding on a request for temporary protection.

During the temporary protection, citizens of Ukraine may work in the Republic of Croatia without a residence and work permit or a certificate of registration of work.
In terms of employment opportunities and access to the labor market, they are equal to the rights and duties of Croatian citizens and are enabled to use the support, measures and services of the Croatian Employment Service (unemployment registration, mediation, inclusion in active employment policy measures…).
