Happy New Year! As every year, after 01.01 certain changes come into force that affect the business of most entrepreneurs in the Republic of Croatia.
Here is an overview of the most important changes coming into force in 2022:

NEW LAW ON THE CROATIAN CHAMBER COMMERCE – FOR THE MOST OF THE COMPANIES CHAMBER COMMERCE FEE BECOMES VOLUNTARY
In accordance with the new Law on the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, which entered into force in January 2022, companies that do not exceed 2 criteria of the following: total revenues HRK 15,000,000.00, total assets HRK 7,500,000.00 and number of employees HRK 50, are not obliged to pay the mandatory membership fee of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, but they can decide for it voluntarily. For larger companies, the amounts and the method of paying the membership fee are remaining the same like In previous years.
– NEW AMOUNT OF PROTECTED PART OF THE SALARY FROM ENFORCEMENT IN 2022:
If the salary is higher than HRK 7,086.00 net, the amount of two thirds of the average net salary is exempt from enforcement, which means that anything above HRK 4,724.00 can be confiscated. If the salary is less than HRK 7,086.00 and higher than HRK 6,298.66, everything above HRK 4,724.00 must be confiscated. If the salary is less than 6,298.66, 1/4 of the employee’s net salary may be confiscated.
– EMPLOYMENT QUOTAS FOR FOREIGNERS
In 2021, in addition to the possibility of employing foreigners from the quota, it is also possible to employ other staff without prior implementation of the so-called. labor market test. The most important sectors in which there are no more quotas are tourism, catering and agriculture, if employment is carried out for up to 90 days. The minimum wage for full-time emoplyment is HRK 4,687.50 (in 2021 it was HRK 4,250).
